On 31 October 1981, Richard Montagu-Douglas-Scott, then Earl of Dalkeith, married Lady Elizabeth Kerr. The groom was the eldest child and son of the Duke and Duchess of Buccleuch and Queensberry. The bride was the daughter of the Marquess and Marchioness of Lothian. Richard and Elizabeth have four children: Lady Louise (b.1982; married Rupert Trotter); Walter, Earl of Dalkeith (b.1984; married Elizabeth Cobbe); Lord Charles (b.1987); and Lady Amabel (b.1992).
